Obama Picks Up Another … and Another

Obama’s on a roll. Or so it seems. And while the thought of this unknown, untested individual potentially taking over the White House is frightening to say the least, it is almost amusing to watch backbiting between the leading liberal candidates. Barrack Obama’s comments meant to attack Hillary’s support of the bankruptcy bill are ridiculous. His exact quote according to an article on FoxNews from 2/16/08 was, “Her supporting a bankruptcy bill made it harder for people to get out of debt that didn’t help them with the bills that were stacking up on their desks.” Wait a minute … The bankruptcy bill made it harder for people who spent beyond their means to get out scott free of their obligation to pay? There are plenty of debt assistance houses to help with reduced and structured payments, but the days of wiping someones slate clean for irresponsible behavior is done. And he calls that a bad thing? It’s not a bad thing for the organization that is owed the money. And its not a bad thing for Americans to learn this lesson. I spent years advising people about their personal and business finances. In my experience, the reason that most people (MOST) had debt was due to overspending and a lack of planning. Sure there may have been a point when some unexpected things happened, but a good financial plan includes room for the unexpected (no, that doesn’t mean tickets to that hot concert or beers at a sporting event). Bad things happen. You can’t expect the unexpected. But most people spend beyond their means and then cry about it afterward. Though I’m sympathetic to the challenges people face, I don’t believe in a free pass. If you bought it and enjoyed it, you’ve got to pay for it. Frankly, it’s statements like this that make me wonder why the press is giving Barack Obama a free pass. Hillary didn’t single-handedly do away with bankruptcy. She supported a bill that made it tougher and in my opinion, that’s a good thing!

No Free Passes…
What’s the story with Obama anyway? Why is the media giving him a free pass? He’s unproven, untested and unpolished. Sure he’s got some charm, but name a politician that doesn’t … okay, forget I said that. Seriously though … the liberal media’…
